Coleen and Wayne have now married and are officially husband and wife, the mayor of Portofino has confirmed. Congratulations to the happy couple!! She is now Mrs. Coleen Rooney! The Daily Mail has the scoop:
Wayne and Coleen became Mr and Mrs Rooney in a twenty-minute civil ceremony on the Italian Riviera. The service took place in Villa Durazzo in the town of Santa Margherita Ligure.
In front of just eight close family and friends they were married by deputy mayor Gianni Costa. Both had a male and a female witness respectively. Mr Costa said: ‘It was a simple ceremony with around 15 people inside, mostly family. The bride looked lovely in white and the groom wore a brown suit with no tie.
‘No rings were exchanged and the ceremony was very simple yet very beautiful.
The much-hyped wedding was in danger of becoming a bit of a washout, as the heavens opened forcing the bride to accessorise her Marchesa dress with a huge black brolly.
Coleen stepped gingerly down the boardwalk in Genova harbour to attend the civil ceremony, wearing a strapless prom style ankle-length Marchesa gown, with layers of chiffon and high white stilettos.
Afterwards Coleen changed into her £200,000 Marchesa gown, which is said to have a 25 foot train.
