Just hours before big match, Coleen goes shopping

What should a girl do to soothe her nerves while her boyfriend prepares for the biggest boxing match of his life?

Go shopping, of course. And if your best friend is No1 WAG Coleen McLoughlin, who knows a thing or two about retail therapy, then so much the better.

Jennifer Dooley, 26, the girlfriend of British boxer Ricky Hatton, met up with Coleen, fiancee of England footballer Wayne Rooney, in Las Vegas ahead of today’s “fight of the decade”.

“Coleen is great chums with Jennifer. She and Wayne have known Ricky and Jennifer for years,” said a family friend.

“Coleen came to Vegas to cheer Ricky on – and is going to make a week of it. She is planning plenty of shopping with Jennifer.”

“Coleen has made a lot of money this year, so she’s splashing out on her family,” said a friend. “As well as shopping, she has planned a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon.

“She is with her mum and dad and uncle Sean and aunt Tracy.

“Wayne and Ricky are childhood friends and Wayne was gutted not to be able to go. Coleen’s there in Wayne’s place.”

The Rooney and McLoughlin families are steeped in boxing. Wayne’s father Thomas fought for England, while Coleen’s father Anthony is a former boxing instructor who coached Wayne at Croxteth sports club in Liverpool.
