Posted on: Aug 20, 2007 | 0 Replies |

Coleen and Wayne kissingColeen McLoughlin has revealed she’s more argumentative than her fiancé Wayne Rooney. ‘When we argue, he’s always the one who says, “Forget it”, and I’m the one who wants to carry it on,’ says Coleen.

‘I find it hard to forget, even if the row was my fault in the first place. He’s very calm.’

But what do the Wayne and Coleen have bust-ups about when they’re feeling grumpy in their £4 million Cheshire mansion?

‘Daft stuff, like everybody else,’ she tells Weekend magazine. ‘Every relationship has its ups and downs, but we’re just in the position where everyone knows it.’

Coleen says ‘no kids just yet’

Posted on: Aug 18, 2007 | 0 Replies |

Coleen McLoughlin says she’s too busy – and too young – to contemplate having kids just yet.

With the launch of her own perfume and a TV show, Coleen’s Real Women, in the pipeline, Coleen admits her profession comes before parenthood right now.

‘I don’t get much chance to think about starting a family with so many big projects going on,’ she admits. ‘I’m signed with ITV for two years and I want that to work out well.

‘To be honest, Wayne and I don’t talk about having children at the moment. We’re still really young and our main priority is getting married. That comes first.’

Rooney rips up the garden

Posted on: Aug 18, 2007 | 0 Replies |

Wayne Rooney is having his £50,000 garden landscaped again – so he can get his lawn just like the turf at Old Trafford.

The footballer brought back workman to rip up the old turf at his £4m mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire so it could be replaced by new grass and under soil heating – believed to be similar to that at the United stadium.

Wayne and fiancee Coleen McLoughlin, both 21, had spent tens of thousand of pounds on lawns and shrubs in the run up to their move to the purpose built property in December 2005.

But the garden became heavily scorched by last Summer’s heatwave and it is feared the quality of the grass may have been permanently affected by the high temperatures.

Now contractors are back at the site putting in new turf and even under soil heating so Wayne can feel as though he is stepping onto the United pitch as he goes outside to prune his roses.

Coleen gives ‘Real Women’ a chance

Posted on: Aug 18, 2007 | 3 Replies |

Coleen McLoughlin, Size ZeroColeen will use her new TV show to wage war on the fashion world’s obsession with Size Zero.

In one episode of Coleen’s Real Women, Coleen will pitch size 16 women against waif-like models from agencies like Storm and Elite to win a contract with lingerie firm Ultimo.

‘Coleen is on a mission to challenge the image-obsessed society we live in and put real women in to high profile advertising and modeling jobs,’ one source tells the Daily Mirror.

‘She’s been inspired by the Dove ads and thinks it’s time to turn the tables on Size Zero culture. With her profile there is no one better to do it.’

The ITV show, out next year, will see Coleen, 21, receive a new brief from an ad agency or brand each week.

A fashion producer and a booker will then help her search for real women to do the job.

- Coleen wrote in her Closer column that her new show isn’t about being against size zero, it’s just about giving ordinary women “with something special” a chance at modeling.

Coleen’s Five Star Buys

Posted on: Aug 17, 2007 | 0 Replies |

Coleen McLoughlin tells Sunday Mirror her beauty essentials:

1. It’s every girl’s dream to have her own fragrance, and my dream came true when I was asked to create Coleen, £19.95. I tested it on my friends and family to make sure everyone would love it as much as I do. I wanted something light and feminine, and I’m so proud of the result.

2. Nars The Multiple, £27, is a great multi-purpose product – I use it on my eyes, cheeks and lips to add shimmer.

3. Bronzer is my handbag essential. I love St Tropez Powder Bronzer, £20, because it’s a lovely warm colour and it looks completely natural, not orange.

4. I can’t resist beauty products that look pretty, and Pout is one of my favourite brands. I especially love its lipgloss, Plump in Bubblegum Pink, £16 – it’s a gorgeous girlie pink.

5. I don’t wear a lot of eye make-up during the day, but if I’m going out for the evening I use YSL Faux Cils mascara, £19. It’s the best for making my lashes look bigger and sexier.

The Real Coleen

Posted on: Aug 17, 2007 | 5 Replies |

The Real ColeenColeen McLoughlin is worth £6million in her own right, she’s pretty and – infuriatingly – likeable. Barely 21 and wearing red-soled Christian Louboutin heels, white blouse and smoky mascara, she looks like a schoolgirl dressed up in her mum’s threads as she comes chattering in.

She should be all too easy to envy – and loathe. Wayne Rooney’s photogenic fiancee has a wildly lucrative exercise video, a magazine column and TV show.

She is the £3million face of George at Asda, the author of a best-selling autobiography and has just launched her own “citrussy” perfume – Coleen X.

She’s even set the date for her wedding – sometime in 2008 – and is busy planning a lavish ceremony. “I’ve got to get cracking,” she says, breathlessly. “I’ve only got a year.”

But there’s no guile to her. She isn’t showing off – or even trying terribly hard. She’d just rather be busy. “My dad always says, ‘Never say bored’ – he hates that word. Yes, I could put my feet up. But I wouldn’t want that.

“When I was little I always had something on – dance lessons, drama. And I wanted a career. After school I worked at New Look – they gave me a discount off the clothes.

“But when I moved in with Wayne, I was pretty much just looking after the house. Then a magazine offered me a column. And it was my dream job – writing about fashion in a magazine I used to buy anyway. Since then, everything else has come to me. But people must have seen something and thought: ‘We’ll give Coleen a go’.”

As a working-class girl from Croxteth who left school with no A-Levels, her life has morphed beyond recognition. She and Wayne live behind electronic gates in a multi-million pound Cheshire pile, with a swimming pool, and personal gym.

At her glitzy 21st four months ago, her 300 guests were treated to stilt-walkers and female contortionists cavorting on mirrored plinths.

But Coleen is adamant that nothing of consequence has changed. “People think my life has altered dramatically but it hasn’t really. My life’s still my life – my friends and family and Wayne.

Coleen is too busy to shop for wedding dress

Posted on: Aug 17, 2007 | 1 Reply |

She shot to fame as the schoolgirl other half of footballer Wayne Rooney. But with her own scent about to hit the shelves and a new TV show, Coleen McLoughlin is now a star in her own right.

Coleen, 21, tells us how she would go back to Weight Watchers to get in shape for her wedding next year, and why there are no baby plans just yet.

Over the last three years, you’ve earned millions and now you’re about to launch a perfume and TV career. How does it feel to be one of the wealthiest young ladies in the world?

It’s great. I never imagined I’d be where I am now. It’s every girl’s dream! It hasn’t happened overnight though. A lot of the projects that are now coming about have been bubbling away for the past four or five years – it’s been a gradual thing. Obviously, in the beginning, it was Wayne who was in the limelight, now my stuff is really coming together.

How thrilled are you to have your own TV show, Coleen’s Real Women, starting next year?

It’s all so exciting. This will be my first project for ITV. I’m working closely with Endemol who came up with the idea. The plan is to find a group of real women who have never done any modelling, but would quite like to give it a go. The final eight will then be put forward to model for a professional advertising campaign.

Tell us about the perfume. How did you come to decide on your own scent?

I wanted something fresh smelling that hadn‘t been done before. Something you can wear every day. I flew to France to test lots of different scents and picked my favourite four. I came back home and let friends and family smell the samples. Everyone loved the same one – even Wayne!
