Polly Hudson on why Coleen is over as a Real Woman

A certain journalist is not too pleased with Coleen’s recent spendings etc. Read below and after the jump:

Update: Just to clarify, I (the webmistress) did not write this article, these aren’t my views.

Sorry, Coleen, but this is the last straw.

Mrs Rooney has undone all her good, Gok-esque work on her Real Women TV programme by proving, yet again, that she’s about as far removed from real life as Madonna is from dignity.

Strike One! Coleen boasts about getting another new Bentley for Christmas, and a necklace she already has in gold, she wants in white gold too.

Strike Two! She’s pictured with millions of shopping bags full of brand new, designer clothes at a time when most of us are struggling to afford one shopping bag full of brand new, non-designer food.

Strike Three! While we’re all freezing cold, having suffered t-w-o y-e-a-r-s without a summer, she’s frolicking in the Barbados sunshine. And the fact her bikini probably cost more than the average family’s car just adds insult to injury. So that’s it then – three strikes. Coleen is officially out.

We all know the credit crunch isn’t affecting the super rich, but Coleen needs to learn a lesson in humility and tact. It seems like she’s going out of her way to rub our noses in the money she’s recklessly chucking about, while the rest of us worry, scrimp and save.

Obviously I’m not expecting Coleen to wear a bin bag and eat stale bread and water – but she can well afford a holiday somewhere private, where she won’t be photographed so we won’t have to see it.

Have you ever seen a picture of Victoria Beckham on the beach?

Exactly.

I totally disagree with you! Its ridiculous to expect her to stop spending, she works hard for her money and no the credit crunch doesn’t effect the super rich, so lucky them. The photographers follow her, so if she wants to go on 9 holidays a year then good luck to her. And if she wants to buy loads of designer clothes good luck to her again. And as for learning humility and tact, what are you talking about? She hasn’t always been rich so why dont spend! If your lucky enough to be in that situation why hold back. Shes young, she should enjoy life and lucky for her she can live life to the full! So why don’t you be quiet!

I cannot believe this. Surely she is entitled to a holiday and if I could afford 2 buy lots of new designer clothes I would. Leave coleen alone, she seems a lovely girl and I am sure she just loves the paps following her around the beach.
She is in no way rubbing it in peoples faces, its the paps that follow her!! I myself maybe out of a job soon because of the credit crunch but under no circumstances would I want other people to not enjoy themselves and not enjoy themselves because of what I am going through. I just think this statement reaks of the green eyed monster!! Get over it!!!!

  3. Jennifer says:

Give Coleen a break, she has what she has due to pure hardwork so maybe she is someone to aspire to emmulate rather then to slate.

In these times of uncertantity when many people are changing directions and careers I think we all need a positive role model and something to give hope that its not all doom and gloom.

I for one saulte Coleen for being a hardworking and successful business woman.

  4. chel from brum says:

this is rubbish !!! people have to keep spending otherwise every business and shop in the uk would close down. the car industry has been hit the hardest so if she wants a new car is it such a bad thing i dont think so.

  5. Kate says:

I think Polly Hudson is having an attack of the green eyed monster!! I agree with the comments above, if I could afford designer gear and loads of holidays I would. In reality we all have to work hard to achieve our own potential; this may not mean affording brand new Bentleys, but at least we will be happy and sucessful. Something Polly Hudson isn’t maybe if she has to poke fun at other people. Oh and just a thought, I wonder if Hudson has ever thought that the reason there are no pictures of VB in a bikini is because nobody wants to see her emaciated frame!! At least Coleen is a sensible shape.

  6. Kate says:

Just another thought, plenty of ‘normal’ people have loads of holidays a year, my parents included, its just not in the press because they are not famous. Prehaps Polly would like their details so she can ridicule them in a national paper too?!

  7. holly mcguinness in liverpool says:

i think polly hudson is so wrong if you were her and had money i bet you would be spending it. So i say leave Coleen alone. no one listen to her stupid article ! x x

  8. Observation says:

If Polly Hudson had any economic insight, she would be thanking Colleen. As backwards as it sounds, spending money contributes to economic relief. Thank Colleen: Her money not only goes to the people running (and working at the shops), but also through taxes to the government (that will probably use it for social programs). Honestly, that article was written out of jealousy. Not intelligence.

  9. holly mcguinness in liverpool says:

I also agree with observation. If we didn’t spend money the shops wouldn’t be able to open. So we should all spend money every now and again. x x

  10. Emma says:

Don’t look at the photoes of her on holiday. I know she didn’t work for the money, she married it but she has the cash -fact.

  11. Trina says:

I dont know about her working hard for her money! However i think that if i had her money i would go on holiday 9 times a year, maybe more!

She has gone somewhere where she knows she gonna get photographed (as she been before)That prob explains the many bikinis!

  12. Rebecca says:

I think all the posts have valid points. Although in my opinion I think we should start questioning the justification of paying digital tv presenters more than the average doctor/teacher/ nurse/policeman etc earns in their whole career.
    Arguably a more worthwhile career.

Perhaps if the money spent on so called celebrities was capped (don’t get me started on footballers..) our economy wouldn’t be in the state it is now.

The whole concept to me is totally bizaare in this day and age.

  13. holly mcguinness in liverpool says:

people are making stories up out of nothing it’s not her fault that she gets pictured. she just wants a holiday like everyone does. so leave Coleen alone. x

  14. Aleasha Wallace says:

Well i know if i had all that money i would be doing exactly the same as her so who can blame her? so what shes priveliged to have the amount of money that she does it doesnt mean she isnt a real woman.

  15. Miami-Leigh says:

    OMG how ridiculus..
coleen has the money that she and wayne have earnt so why on earth should she stop doing what she does best just to suit us.. goin through the credit crunch..??
    dont be so silly..
jelousy wont get you very far will it??
    :)

  16. michelle says:

coleen is entitled to spend as much as she wants because she has it and life is 2short but she shoudnt be boasting about her lavish lifestyle.

  17. Jo says:

It’s not the spending she was moaning about. It was the blatant boasting. This isn’t jealousy, more that the attitude of Coleen is not being well received.
